We happened to read this story somewhere on social media and thought it would make a great inspiration for many other mothers. Or also relate this real-life story to many other mothers for inspiration.

Aryan wanted to become an engineer when he grows up. But his father, Rameshwar Sultane, a farmer, the sole earning member of the family, committed a suicide last year. Aryan was 6 then.

Did this shatter his dreams?

No! With his mother, Shital Sultane by his side, nothing can deter him. Come what may!

How does the mother help?

How not!

Last year, 30th May 2014 and the Sultane family was almost broken with the sole earning member committing a suicide. Rameshwar had received a debt settlement notice from Gramin Bank of Rs. 80,000 few months before he ended his life. Knowing the current situation the hard-working farmers are in, could we even expect him to repay this huge an amount?!

Rameshwar too had realized that he won’t be able to repay and frustration led him to suicide. He left behind his elderly parents, a young wife, Shital and a 5-year-old son, Aryan. Shital, left alone to take care of the family, started farming and still does it.

Does farming help Aryan’s dream?

No, says Shital. But she still has to do it and alone has she to do it, with elderly parents unable to help and Aryan going to school. She says, “Yes, I did it alone. My inlaws are old. I had no choice Madam. But just a quintal has grown this time. They say the rate is Rs. 3500 per quintal. Had it rained, we would have sold atleast 10 quintals. I invested additional Rs. 20,000 on it. Now it’s all gone. But I have this sewing machine now. No one can stop me!”

Once again, how does Shital, the mother, help in Aryan’s dreams?

Additional to farming, she takes out time to stitch clothes, spending at least 2-3 hours each day when she is free of all other chores. And on the days, she doesn’t have to go to the farms, she spends the entire day getting trained by a local tailor, learning lot many more tactics of tailoring. Zealous Shital, with brightly shining eyes, says, “I can stitch blouses, salwar suits, peticoats and dresses also.”

She hardly gets time to rest, but she now beams with positivity as she realizes that Aryan is taking education in one of the top schools of Akola. Never willing to stop his education, ready to face all that comes to her, Shital works hard to make his dream of being an engineer come true.
She pays Rs. 13000 per annum as school fees, a few more extras to fulfill other school requirements, like uniforms, school books and notebooks, transportation. “But I will work harder to pay these expenses. I could study only till 12th grade but my son will definitely become an engineer,”

says the happy mom!
