What is ScooTalks? How does it work? Arrow

ScooTalks is a platform for parents, students and teachers where they can interact with each other. It is a platform which takes communication between parents and teachers to the next level. After registration on ScooTalks, parents can get all the information about their kids and ongoing activities happening in the school sent by teachers or school.

How is ScooTalks different from other means of communication? Arrow

ScooTalks App is a Safe, Easy and Next-gen communication tool for Teachers and Parents ensuring better learning and education for students. Communication is easy and smooth to improve results and parental involvement.

How do I start using ScooTalks app? Arrow

Download the app from Google play/App store, signup/sign in with your details, and then you may start using the ScooTalks app. Please click http://onelink.to/h2yg9f to download the App.

Can I access ScooTalks through web or do I need a smartphone or a smart device? Arrow

Yes, you can access ScooTalks by visiting our website www.scootalks.com  from your computer or laptop if you don't have a smartphone or a smart device.

How secure is my information? Arrow

We don't save your information. Once, you change your password, nobody else would be able to login to ScooTalks with your login credentials.

What are all the different ways I can access the service? Arrow

You can access ScooTalks from smartphones (Android and iPhone) as well as iPads, Android tablets, PCs and laptops.

What is push notification? Arrow

Whenever any activity is posted on ScooTalks you will get the notification of it instantly via the App. This is similar to an SMS notification, however, it is sent to you via the App.

I forgot my password. How do I reset it? Arrow

If you have forgotten your password, please click on 'forgot password' link below the login page. Please follow the steps on the website or App to reset your password.

How do I change my login password? Arrow

To change your login password, please login to ScooTalks.com and go to 'edit profile'. You need to go to 'change password' tab to change your password.

How do I start using ScooTalks app? Arrow

Do I need a smart phone? Arrow

ScooTalks application is best used on smartphones. Currently, it is available only for Android phones and iPhone users, however you can access ScooTalks by visiting our website www.scootalks.com  from your computer or laptop.

How private is my information? Arrow

We never save your information such as your passwords. Once, you change your password, nobody else would be able to login to ScooTalks with your login credentials.

The Schools has registered me on ScooTalks but I can’t access the school information – now what? Arrow

You can contact us via email at onboarding@scootalks.com or our toll free number 1800 3000 2425 if you are facing any issues.

What notifications are provided by the School on ScooTalks? Arrow

Important notices, circulars and daily updates of school activities of your child are shared by school as text, photo, video. Teachers also share your child performance, class activities, homework and assignments with students and parents that are delivered to you as push notifications and can be immediately seen in ScooTalks App.

How do I change my notification settings? Arrow

You can change the notification settings by clicking on the ‘settings’ tab.

How do I change my contact information? Arrow

You need to login to the ScooTalks application/website. After that, go to edit profile, click on personal information to change your contact information. You may be required to enter an OTP (One Time Password) sent to your registered/updated mobile number to complete the process.

Can I reply to the School’s messages directly? Arrow

No, that is not possible to reply directly to the School’s messages.

What are School updates? Arrow

School updates are the upcoming activities/programs like dance, speech, stage performance, debate, quiz etc. shared in the form of a text, photo, video, audio on ScooTalks.

What is the difference between a ScooTalks post and a message? Arrow

Post means socially posted on the timeline of ScooTalks that is visible to the parents or students or teachers of the school or class selected by you. And messages are for the particular teacher/student/parents.

How do I update the class, section or other details of a child? Arrow

You cannot update the class, school or section of your child once the profile is submitted. You will need to submit a School Change request which will be verified and processed based on successful verification.

How private is my information? Arrow

ScooTalks.com agrees to keep all the data provided by the preferred School confidential at all times unless required to do so by the law.

How do I register on ScooTalks app? Arrow

There is no signup method for direct registration for Teachers. The school provides information and registers the teachers for ScooTalks App access. In case you are not registered, please contact us at onboarding@scootalks.com and we will validate your details with the school and ensure registration after successful verification from school.

I’ve registered on ScooTalks but can’t access the school information – now what? Arrow

Kindly check your details with the school administration and attempt to login using the mobile number/email you have registered in the school’s records. In case you still face issues, please contact ScooTalks support at onboarding@scootalks.com or call us on our Toll Free number 1800 3000 2425.

Can I send messages to an individual parent as well? Arrow

Yes, you can send personal messages to parents either for sharing confidential information about their child’s performance or about any other thing.

How do I update the class, section or other details of a child or the related parent? Arrow

Child profile related updates will be done by either their parents or the school. You may also report such incidents at onboarding@scootalks.com.

How do I add my class and subjects? Arrow

Login to ScooTalks Account>>Dashboard>>Teaching>>Add class

How do I see/edit/delete notifications? Arrow

We are constantly upgrading our App so you will see the feature in a new version of the App.

How does two way messaging work? Arrow

Two way messaging only works if the teacher has authorized a parent to respond to their messages.

Can I attach pictures to my messages? Arrow

When you compose a message, options to attach files, images or videos is provided.

Can Parents reply back to my text messages? Arrow

No, as a rule, they cannot reply back to you as this is a one-way communication for sending classroom updates to parents and students. However, we do give teachers the options to enable response from parents if required.

Can parents see my phone number? Arrow

Personal Information like mobile number is secured and hidden in your profile information so the parents cannot see your mobile number.

Can parents see my email address? Arrow

Personal Information like email is secured and hidden in your profile information so the parents cannot see your email address.

Can I send a message to multiple classes at once? Arrow

For now, there is an option of sending a message to all students at once or a particular section of Class.

Can Parents see notifications or access school's ScooTalks app before they have joined? Arrow

No, they cannot check notifications without having a ScooTalks account as a parent of particular student of a School.

How do I change my contact information? Arrow

You may change Contact information by getting into Dashboard>>edit profile>>Change Contact Info.

How do I build a Class and get Parents and Teachers signed up? Arrow

All parents’ and teachers’ information as provided by school are signed up on ScooTalks and would appear automatically according to the students and classes.

Can classes have more than one Teacher? Arrow

Yes, you can add all teachers on ScooTalks teaching the same class.

How private is the school and school management information? Arrow

ScooTalks.com agrees to keep all the data provided by the preferred School confidential at all times unless required to do so by law.

How many classes can I build? Arrow

You can add multiple classes with sections according to your school requirements.

How do parents and teachers join ScooTalks? Arrow

The School will import the teachers’ and students’ data into ScooTalks using a secure URL and based on these inputs we shall create and communicate user details of Teachers, Parents and Students.

Is there a limit on the number of members I can have in a class? Arrow

No, there is no limit on the numbers of students in a class.

Can Parents see notifications or access school's ScooTalks app before they have joined? Arrow

Parents would need to be registered on ScooTalks first in order to get all the notifications from the school.

Is there a limit on the number of notifications being sent out? Arrow

No, there is no limit on the number of notifications being sent out.

How do I delete a class or a group? Arrow

You need to login with your ScooTalks account and after that go to 'Teachers' under your school name and subjects to add or remove classes or group.

How can I deactivate a user? Arrow

You have the option 'Manage Teachers' in the school admin panel. You can deactivate any teacher by clicking on 'Left From School'.
