Teachers, more than being a teacher, become more of an inspiration. And what if such an inspiration says that he was inspired by social media?
Social media? An inspiration to a teacher? Can that be true?
Well, if it is this English teacher from Xaviers, Melven Castelino, lotza amazing things can happen.
He believes that social media is not just about socializing digitally but it is also a boon for those who want to learn and improvise. And he is an example; he owes his art and photography skills to social media.. Melven, a dexterous sketcher, gifted musician and skillful photographer, credits his learning to social media. To help others gain the same way as him, he started started a Facebook page ‘Musicartography’, which for him is a powerful interface between him, his music, his art, his photography and FB users and learners. In an endeavor to further propagate art, Melven keeps putting efforts and one such effort isa weekend workshop being held in C-Scheme Jaipur from 2nd to 4 October, with which he will try to introduce basic pencil shading. .
Workshop:
For art enthusiasts like him, aesthete Melven comes forward with a 3-day workshop of pencil shading, with the aim to open the learner’s mind to the awesome art of monochrome with graphite medium which is not only an exciting but also an inexpensive medium. The workshop will give a basic introduction to start sketching, like how to hold a pencil while shading, a basic introduction to understanding light, how much pressure is needed and at what time. Day 2 will gradually move to building confidence in the budding artists, observation of an artists and also introduce skill-life sketching. Day 3 will give the artists an opportunity to do their first sketches. Being the last day, it will be more about self-evaluation of and experience sharing.Art enthusiasts! Get ready, here’s a chance to showcase your talent at this unique and interactive workshop!
