True when it is said that to help a child develop all-around, both parents and teachers have to get together, each playing an equally important role.
Terna Orchids – The International School, Kopar Khairane, Mumbai took an example and proved it right.
The school had recently organized a competition, Fittest Mom, where mothers and their wards were teamed up to compete against others. As the school believes, parent involvement is important in the child’s learning process at school, the objective of this competition held on 12 December was to strengthen the parent-child bond.
The event started with a warm-up Aerobic session conducted by Ms. Arya, P.E. Teacher. This was followed by a demonstration of the activities to be performed by the mothers. Various Edu Sports equipment were laid down and mother-child duo were encouraged to participate in different activities, which judged their compatibility and togetherness. The pair that finished the activities in the shortest time was declared the winner.
Though there were few winners, there were lots of laughters and smiles, there was lots of huggings, there were lots of handshakes. It was an event that was well enjoyed by parents and children and created wonderful memories for all. And that was the agenda of this interesting competition at Terna Orchids School
